As I look at the 2007 schedule, I see the first 3 SBC teams we play are the 3 we lost to this year. I guess we will know where we stand early on. Hopefully we come out of the first 4 OOC games with at least 1 win and injury-free. Injury-free being as important as a win with the toughest of the SBC schedule to immediately follow.

...and how many teams in the country will start out the 2007 season with their first 6 games against bowl teams? My guess is one. Go owls!

Do we really have to go play Nebraska in Lincoln...ouch. I just really want to beat USF. I made the trip over for the 2003 game and I still walk with a limp in my step.

I can't say precisely where we will be in 2009 but we will be better than 2006. I'll be bold enough to say the match up will be closer with Nebraska at that stage of the teams development than it was in 2002 against USF. The 2002 team was comprised of D1AA sophomores.

Nebraska is a fantastic place to see football and its people are the friendliest you will meet. I've been there twice for Troy games, including this season. You better know about your team because at bars, restaurants, tailgate parties and the airport, people will ask you specific questions about the players, coaches, schedule and history. They know their stuff. Memorial Stadium has a great atmosphere and Nebraksa just installed a $6 million jumbotron that might even be larger and nicer than the one the Dolphins just added. Fly into Omaha ($59 to $79 from PBI and FLL on Southwest) and drive less than an hour west to Lincoln. Stay downtown a few blocks from the stadium and enjoy the Haymarket District of bars and eateries. Before you leave Omaha, jump across the Missouri River from downtown Omaha and hit the casinos. We liked Harrah's. In Lincoln, the Emassy Suites is the necest place - two blocks from the stadium and hosting an outdoor tailgate party with live band and bars before the after the game. If you wear FAU gear there, prepare to talk to everyone about your team, players and school. This is not the jumbotron to which I referred. There are two others in the opposite corners. The press box and suites are great. Troy patterened its building after this one. They are very similar in layout. Embassy Suites bash Memorial Stadium, as seen from the 13th floor of the Holiday Inn Check out the jumbotron behind the end zone. It's high-def.

Great info BMarkey. Sounds like a can't miss road game. I might have to mark that one on my calendar for 2009. I also might have to make a rare appearance next year and see the OWLS play Kentucky. That isn't too far of a trip for me so I hope to make it. GO OWLS!!!

Being able to make these type of road trips, is all part of what makes college football season so great and having the chance to visit some of these schools with great traditions is awesome and would recommend anyone enjoy the experience involved at least once, hard to explain, but well worth it.

Looking at the schedule for 2007, I am curious as to the North Texas and Arkansas game locations. As I recall, some of our fans stopped of at N Texas on the way home from Hawaii in 2004, and we played at N Texas this year...........it seems that the 2007 game should be a home game for FAU. Also, Arkansas was here this year which would suggest an away game for next year.
That question having been raised, let me say that the information that I have found on this site and the dialogue between members has been most useful and enjoyable.
My compliments to all
