Why would we ever agree to play the first game against conference competion ?? Doesn't sound too smart to me - I hope I am wrong, But hey - our first game - at HOME !!!! we return our whole team practically...they have EVERYTHING to lose with the key losses they have to fill and NO EXPERIENCE with the new QB completely running the show...i think it works in our favor - BIGTIME...

Perhaps I am not as much of a risk taker as the rest of you. I just have never heard of opening a season against a conference opponent. I wonder why that decision was made and if Coach S. is in favor of it. If we wanted to win our home opener against a conference team I would have rather played FIU for a sure win

Typically a team does not play conference games first, but typically the OOC games are easier. Our conference games, while never easy, are easier than our OOC games we have scheduled so I can see why they would do it.

The changes that occured was due to re-scheduling the conference made to help accomodate WKU with some SBC games as they transition into the conference - something similar was done for FAU & FIU couple years years ago.

True, but Miami just joined the conference so that was a fluke. We know what a mistake that can be for FSU !!
Go NOLES !!!
I am looking very forward to the first game at home and being a very winnable game - I just hope the road to N.O. is not cut short by this game so we better WIN ! We just need to not hurt anyone before the first game - our fall practices have a history of being brutal.
GO OWLS !!!

We are not FIU... We will win our opener and it will be a catalyst to N.O.

Looking forward to coming down to your house this year. I will make two road games -- FAU and Auburn. What kind of facilities do you all have? I read in another post that you are hoping for an OCS, so what do you have now? Are there seatbacks available (I have herniated discs...)?
It was not long ago we were hungry and fighting for a name (still are in a lot of ways). I think this will be a great trip. Hope to have a great game, no hurricanes, and no injuries!

Welcome to the board. We play in Lockhart Stadium in Fort Lauderdale. No seatbacks to my knowledge. It used to be an MLS stadium and it goes back way before that. It would be okay if FAU could fill it. Otherwise, it isn't too special although it beats playing in Dolphin Stadium with 55,000 empty seats. It will be a nice trip and it should be a competetive game.
GO OWLS!!!

The sideline seats at Lockhart are chairbacks. The hope is though, that we will have a temporary on-campus stadium built around our new track in time for the MTSU game. We'll probably hear more about that in May.

If the game is at Lockhart then you'll be able to get a chair with a seat back, they are the three sections in the middle of the sideline seats 40-50 yard lines. sections 120-123 are what you're looking for
