On the news tonight they were talking about dedicating there new stadium and the 16 months that has taken thus far and they still have a little ways to go to hopefully open the season with all completions. That was just to build the stadium. Count backward from 2010 season opener it is going to be extremely close.

"If we don't get what we need" - what does that mean?? Remember...? Mistakenly(?) placed on Coach Walter's July 2nd blog: Question from Carlos Hello Sir, I am writing to find out if there is a realistic time frame for an on campus stadium? If there is, what can students do to help it become more of a reality?
Response from Athletics Director Craig Angelos Carlos: Thanks for your email.
The latest update on the stadium is that we are trying to raise approximately $5 million in one form or another in order to have the stadium completed for the 2010 football season.
If that goal is not attained in quick fashion, then it may force us to a year later. Nevertheless, we are very optimistic that we are all shooting for a 2010 opening of our new stadium. I know this has been a long process and I am sure that there will be more twists and turns but we will keep you updated as that occurs.
Thanks for your support, Craig

I think one difference in our athletic villages is our football stadium is a separate effort that happens to be going up at the same time. It's using a separate financial vehicle from the our athletic village which includes the new dorms, retail, and arena. The athletic village was well under way when the stadium was first being discussed. You'll see the stadium discussed as part of the athletic village though so it's a little confusing.
