Florida_Owl-
Please do not go into the arena without permission. This is the second time you have done so and it is considered trespassing. If you would like to tour the progress that is being made you can contact me (Melissa Dawson, Associate AD for Internal Operations) at 561-297-2683 and I will be happy to take you through the arena and let you take pictures.
There are serious repercussions that you aren't aware of when things like this happen. Today, someone lost their job because the tile job was messed up when unescorted individuals entered the arena and did not realize that the tile was not set yet. This caused the tile to set crooked and a gentleman was fired over it. In addition, this backs up the project as the tile has to be torn up and redone.
Again, I will be happy to give you a tour of the arena renovations whenever you would like. Please just call me and set up a date and time and I will happily take you through and explain everything that is being done, why it is being done and the timeline for the remainder of the work.
We appreciate your support, enthusiasm and eagerness. I don't want to discourage any of this, I simply would like to escort you through to ensure that progress is not impeded and the rules of entering the construction site are followed.
Thanks and I hope to see you at the Minnesota game!
Go Owls!

I was in the Arena the other week (escorted, doing work for Campus Rec) and it is a 100% new place. I can't wait for the construction to finish next month!

Tuba, So it is a far less depressing place? Good to hear! It certainly looks great in the pictures. Good work by our newest member Melissa Dawson, who I believe is leading the way on this project. It may not be the 10,000 seat palace that UCF just built, but i'm sure the finished product will be a huge upgrade and serve us well for the forseeable future. It was long, long over due.

One question maybe someone can answer(Melissa?)...I thought the upstairs bleachers were coming out. Is that happening?

They looked all intact when I was in there. The only change in seating I noticed where the new bleachers (without the seats mounted yet) positioned in the 3 sides of the lower bowl.

The upper level baseline bleachers will be removed next summer. Luxury boxes will be added in their place.
Happy to take anyone through just please contact me and arrange an official visit.
We appreciate the passion and enthusiasm that all of you have for FAU and FAU Athletics!

I got in again tonight... I hope they hired the one guy back. Other than that, the Arena is looking great. I don't know if other people are getting this drift but it's looking very much like it belongs in Boca. I think a lot of people are going to be impressed to say the least. I know it's premature but I do hope there's lots of Owl stuff in the Arena, red and blue banners and so forth. It's very disappointing not to see this stuff on campus. Everybody wants to see more Owl stuff on campus but it's been very slow in coming (the Student Union and bookstore are the only two places to see Owl heads) It would be nice if Athletics could change that at least within its own facilities... looking forward to the new Arena.

Np Melissa...that wont be necessary...ill wait for the first game... wasn't trying to cause any harm...the two picture taking sessions are the only time(s) i have been in... BTW, you might want to tell them to lock the gate at night - it was wide open...and has been on a myriad of occassions...as well as ALL of the external doors... After having worked in the contruction field, i completely understand the need to keep things in tact... BTW, i didnt disturb anything - know better than that...merely wanted to snap some shots to share with the rest of the FAU Faithful... Regards...
