It is the dome so it is probably for basketball since the dome was planned as a multi-use facility. GO OWLS!!! Yeah, but last I checked Florida Atlantic doesn't compete in the Atlantic Sun anymore. So somebody looks like a bozo either way. That shows how long they have been working on this whole thing. Obviously, these drawings were done while FAU was an A-Sun member in all sports except football. We were D1AA independant in football prior to the Sunbelt.

IllinoisOwl is right, the concept of the Dome was started while football was still playing IAA ball, I may be wrong, but I think the concept was introduced at one point in 02.

So somebody looks like a bozo either way. The only Bozos are the MTSU community for claiming to be SBC champs on a nationally televised commercial that aired during the MTSU bowl game. That is about as low as you can get. You can't actually win the thing so you claim to have won it in hopes of fooling unsuspecting viewers. Obviously MTSU missed the memo that Troy won the SBC. GO OWLS!!!

I apologize if that was YOUR conceptual drawing. By the way, we earned our Sun Belt title. We didn't lose to Arkansas State. The Big East also had co-champs this past season. It happens.

MTSU did not win the SBC. It is fine if you believe that in your own minds. "The Self Proclaimed SBC Champions." It has a nice ring to it.
GO OWLS!!!

Troy won the head to head match-up. That means even though there was a tie in terms of conference records, Troy won the conference championship. Check the Sunbelt website. Troy is #1 in the final conference standings and MTSU is #2.

The dome has been in the works for a long time... you'll notice that the FAU logos are also several years out of date.

I never said MTSU lost to Arkansas State. I said they lost the head to head matchup against Troy. Cry all you want about MTSU not losing to Arkansas State...bottom line according to the SBC and everyone else is that Troy was the 2006 SBC champ and MTSU was the second place finisher in the conference.
GO OWLS!!!

Alright guys, this thread is starting to take a severe turn away from any talk about the Stadium and Innovation Village as the thread implies, if you need to continue this banter, please start another thread.
Thanks

Sorry, it is just too hard to resist putting the great fans of MTSU in their place.

GO OWLS!!! Obviously you didn't read the December Ask the Commissioner. According to the SBC, Middle Tennessee and Troy shared the league title. According to disgruntled fans like yourself, then only Troy won it. I'm sorry that your team was a disappointment this year, but it doesn't take away anything that we have accomplished or will accomplish at Middle Tennessee.

In an effort to steer this thread in the proper direction, here's an observation with questions concerning the InnVillage & Nest:
The "University Commons" area off Glades is FAU property correct? If so, then how did that get built so darn quick? Oh yeah, here's another question...where is the revenue going? At $35.00 a sq/ft minumum rent, couldn't that be used as start-up money for the village (It was suppose to go to housing in the first place). I just want to know why the Innovation Village & Stadium is taking so long to even finalize, much less built, when something like this was done in the past. Sorry to sound negative, but I want my Nest!
-GO OWLS!
